Dirty on Purpose, the shoegazer-inspired indie rock band from early 2000s New York, whose sound evokes bands like Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, and the Sundays. Formed in Brooklyn in 2002, the original lineup featured multiple vocalists with keyboardist Erika Forster, guitarists Joseph Jurewicz and George Wilson, drummer Doug Marvin, and bassist D.J. Boudreau. Erika Forster later departed to join Au Revoir Simone before the release of "Hallelujah Sirens."
