The Natvral shares video for Home

Kip Berman (The Pains of Being Pure At Heart) released his debut EP as The Natvral last month via Kanine Records. The four-track release is currently available in digital and 7" vinyl.

Today, Berman shares a stylized, nostalgic video for EP track "Home," directed by Remy Holwick and inspired by the fashions of the '90s, when Berman first met his now-wife. Described by Holwick as "what would happen if you took Bob Dylan and stuffed him into the most cheesy, Monkeys-TV-inspired, over-the-top saccharine color palate," you can watch the video via YouTube.

"Home" is a reflection on the relationship that began seventeen years ago as a tumultuous and short-lived romance, and grew into a marriage with two children. Written while Berman was touring with The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, it's the first track that he knew was meant not for Pains, but for a new project. He shares, "It's an exciting but terrifying feeling. It's as if my writing moved on from Pains before I could realize what was happening. I opened my mouth one day and heard a different voice. It was mine, but unfamiliar. I didn't know - and still don't know - where it'll take me, but I'm going to follow it."

The Natvral will play Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on December 17th for Kanine Records & Dr. Martens' holiday party (RSVP here.)
